Commercial Director
2012 - present

 

  • Sole responsibility for sales, marketing and buying teams.

  • Undertook a strategic review of the Goodmans brand and its values, delivering a complete relaunch including all assets, identity, website and product strategy.

  • Introduced new product initiatives driving UK market shares from 0 to >20% in 12 months across 2 new categories.

  • Improved gross profitability by >5% through a complete product portfolio overhaul, implementing a successful migration away from declining and unprofitable product areas.

  • Support sales team with detailed product costs, margin and competitive analysis with all required sales assets and product plans.

  • Implemented a group product roadmap, coordinating with Australian and Hong Kong teams to reduce cost and duplication.

  • Delivered a multi-platform brand marketing plan across web, social, experiential & trade.

  • Delivered new sales opportunities with key retailers and led key customer review meetings with sales team.

  • Manage Shenzhen and UK teams to deliver new product developments on time and report updates to business accordingly.

  • Managed all group contract negotiations including software and product development, customers, licensees, strategic and patent owners.

 

 

Buying & Marketing Director, Harvard Int. Ltd.

​2009 - 2012

  • Delivered a complete overhaul of group supplier base and implemented group wide contracts with 100% compliance delivering improved delivery performance and improved commercial terms

  • Developed and managed the Direct Import business strategy that delivered over $50m Set-Top-Box sales over 3 years.

  • Managed and delivered strategic group project for Digital Help Scheme resulting in over 2m unit sales during Government Digital Switchover (single most profitable group project ever).

  • Created the product roadmap and strategy that saw Goodmans reach no.1 position in UK Digital Set Top Box market (>30% market share).

  • Instigated and managed the launch of a collaborative project with RNIB to create the world’s first talking set-top-box specifically designed for the visually impaired.

  • Scoped, managed and delivered the e-commerce sales platform (on time, on budget) across 4 brands.

  • Created and delivered group wide brand marketing strategy including appointment and management of 3rd party PR & marketing providers to agreed budgets.

  • Managed licensed brand strategy including contract negotiations, marketing and sponsorship.

  • Travelled to India and Middle East to fully research and deliver a strategic plan to Geeya board for global set-top-box development including sales leads, prioritised targets and technical requirements.

 

 

Brand Director, Goodmans, Harvard Int. Ltd.

​2006 - 2009

  • Managed the re-structuring and relocation of the brand office from Portsmouth to Group Head Office.

  • Full P&L brand sales responsibility including budget and forecasting.

  • Undertook and delivered stock cleansing of obsolete and end of life inventory >£10m within agreed timeframe and budget.

  • Managed the product range to reflect the changing group requirements.
